This Record Store Day release, available in limited quantities on The Doors store, features unheard rough mixes from the album’s early sessions and never-before-released outtakes of “When The Music’s Over.” Pressed on limited-edition transparent turquoise vinyl, it’s a visceral, unpolished look at a masterpiece in the making.
Doors engineer Bruce Botnick said “[This is] a document showing some of the give and take of recording in the studio and sorting out the songs, and where they would eventually live.”
The Doors store version does not include the exclusive poster print that was included exclusively at record stores.
